Hi tennmike,
Yes, I'm aware of it.
It all started with Steve Schneider asking a company in Texas to build him a modern Me-262. The group called themselves the Texas Airplane Factory.
After Steve's untimley death, the project was moved to the Seattle area (where I live).
Yes, the planes are either ready or almost ready, powered by J-85's. I expect they will be on the airshow circuit sometime in the near future, but that all depends on the owners. As I understand it, they only built a few. I seem to recall 3 or 4 (at least one wa a 2-seater complete with radar antennas), and the price is high. Try reverse engineering a fighter sometime!
Anyway, the owners may or may not elect to use up airframe life on the airshow circuit. Thanks for the link!

I'm really quite glad about this project going ahead. Although the last time I looked, there had been no test-flight and the only engined aircraft wound up in a ditch at the end of the runway. I think brake failure was cited.
Now we just need to get a consortium together to make newbuild Me-163 aircraft! With something a little less touchy than the walther engine perhaps?

I've edited the post to show the e-mail correctly :D
BTW there is a button to place e-mail hyperlinks correctly. And the correct syntax for an e-mail hyperlink is not http://mail but mailto:mail
Just to help :)
