Hi all
I've published some of the drawings Greg sent me. If you want to see them click here (http://www.tgplanes.com/drawings/).
There are also amigojeff 's sketches! They're in third page.

Thanks Paolo, I'll try to get some more to you soon. Could be useful for a club newsletter or whatever.
Just for information, the paint schemes are not researched ... I just colored the drawings as I saw fit from memory. The Aircraft profiles, however, are as close as I could come to the real thing.

Hey guys,
These drawings are from my own library and are shown here in *.jpg format at 100 pixel resolution. The actual line drawings are without the digital "zig-zags" but require specific CAD packages to open.
If you have a favorite type not shown, post here and I may be able to produce one of your "babies." Most of what I have done is fighters, but other types are welcome, too. I typically do one or two every few days as interest allows. Then it takes a few days to get to Taglia, and he has his own time constraints.
I just sent him a couple of Spitfires since the type seems to have so many fans in this forum.

Only kidding, great drawings!

24th February 2004, 16:25
Thanks, Buzz. OK, I'll do a Corsair (actually, I anticipated this and already HAVE one ... I just haven't emailed it to Taglia yet) ... I suppose I could throw in a Bleach and Booze fighter just for fun. Depends on the available time. Don't ask for a Zubr!
My later drawings are better than the earlier ones since I figured out the drawing package somewhat better as I went along. The drawings posted are 100 pixels per inch. The real drawings are draw objects with no resolution issues, and I can output them in several formats if anyone is interested.
I started this since most decent drawings on the web are copyrighted or are low-resolution jpg's. I thought a decent drawing should be available for things like fliers for model groups, newsletters, etc. even if I had to do it myself. Anyone else want to throw insome drawings that YOU did? If so, I'm sure Taglia will welcome the participation ...

As always I'm very happy of any form of collaboration :)

29th February 2004, 10:51
Before anyone says it ... yes, I know the national insignia on the Avia B.135 is wrong. Without thinking, I used a modern insignia.
I also know the star on the Corsair's lower wing surface was on the starbord wing, not port.
I corrected these oversights in my files, but have not yet sent them to Taglia.
Sorry about that ... - Greg
Beautiful drawings there. Any chance of a FW190D down the line?

OK, I'll do a D-9, a radial engine 190, and matbe a Ta-152 C or H.

I sent an Fw 190D-9 and an Fw 190F-8 to Taglia. I'm slightly burned out on drawing accurate airplanes right now, but will try to get a Ta-152 of some variety out soon.

P.S. there is a "typo" error in the FW190D9 image ... it's 190 and not 109 :)

Can you do an Me-410 Greg?:)
GregP
11th May 2004, 10:15
The Ki-46 IS a Mitsubishi (is that stupid or what?), and I'll do an Me-410 in a couple of weeks. I'm moving right now and will be pretty busy for a short, intense while. Doing these was just fun ... but the fun wears off after 20+ aircraft. Also, these are saved at 100 pixels per inch. They look MUCH better in CAD with no pixel count to worry about.
I'll do the 410 and try to put a decently realistic camo scheme on it.
I have about 20 half-complted drawings of various sorts on the hard disk, and they have been languishing almost solely due to moving and helping my brother-in-law through a statistics course instead of wasting time drawing airplanes ... Airplanes are MUCH more fun than statistics, but I'm an engineer and good at statstics. That doomed me from the start.
No way to say "No" gracefully ... The course is now over, thankfully. So ... just moving to complete. Then, back to drawing a few planes. Maybe some obscure planes or some more modern planes.
Just please don't ask for WWI stuff. I have no interest in WWI aircraft except maybe the Fokker D.VII. Too much like flying junkpiles except for the Christmas Bullet. It was just a junkpile that couldn't fly at all. The Barling was a close second to the Bullet ... and was WAY uglier.

OK thanks. Admin, can you post the page with the later drawings on it? D'ya know who's winning the election thing?

25th May 2004, 03:48
GregP, nice stuff. i would say the WWI aircraft are not ugly as they were just able to fly for the most part, but some were nice. Any chance you have files on a P-38 or P-61? I know it would be a big long shot for a Halifax or Liberator Mk IV [:p]

Dear Friends,
I would like to share with you this nice Japanese site
http://www.warbirds.jp/kiyochan/gallery/airpre01.html
that shows a multitude of small images of the most frequent and weirdest WWII types, together with older and modern ones. Somewhere they write they are free to use (but beware of using the An-225 as personal picture:D)!

Admin,
Good drawings but the picture you refer to as a '322' in Swedish markings is a 'FFVS J22'.

Hi Wuzak,
I don't reead this thread very often as you can tell, but I use Canvas 8.0. It started out as a CAD package for the Mac, but was ported to the PC. Great, low-cost package when compared with things like stuff from AutoDesk.
It saves to many formats.

Wuzak, I recently got a copy of AutoCAD and am trying to render a P-51 in 3-D. Its not going so bad so far. I do have a few questions though, do you have an e-mail I could use to ask you?
Thanks in advance

Since you un-stickied" this topic, what is the best way to find it short of looking through all the pages?
simon
24th December 2006, 15:30
Bookmark it to your own favourites section I guess. Sorry but I just felt it better to avoid having too many stickies on the first page that hadn't been posted on for a while (In this case since February). I can of course re-sticky it if the people would prefer, but I'd rather see a bit more activity first.

I can believe it wwasn't posted on for that long, but not viewed. I have received emails about the drawings since atht time.
Do you keep track of views?
simon
25th December 2006, 17:17
To be honest, no I don't keep a track of views, it's hard to judge the relative popularity of a thread except by the responses it recieves. Fair enough then, I'll re-sticky it.

Hi Vrabac,
I started this because public drawings or color / B&W 3-Views were scarce. Almost all were copyrighted by the author.
I did a few drawings and wanted to post them for anyone to use. Mine are pretty accurate as to outline, but the color schemes are made up by me. Actually, all I wanted were some drawings for use in a newsletter.
Your artwork is very much appreciated! Keep it coming as long as other people can use it without copyright infringement!
Your posted work is pretty good! Mine are fairly basic ...:)
Thanks!
