I think that the Admin is right. The Langnasen Dora was the best weapon on the airfield. But, if we take a look at the Me 262, then all comparison is futile. I agree that the 262 never had a chance, being so late in the war produced and used. Anyway, the Me 262 creators outdid themselves.

PS: The Romanian army never had even one FW-190, but only Me-109E

In fact Romanian Royal Air Force used some captured Fw-190, but only after 23 August 1944, when Romania fought with the Allies on the east front.

Yes, but that period of time, after 23 august 1944, when the comunist arived in Romania, the Romanian Royal Air Force got all its best planes confiscated by the russians, which were incompetent as fighterpilots, anyway.

The Romanian Royal Air Force (FARR) used not only the Bf-109 E3/E7, but also the Bf-109 G2/G4/G6. Of course the most used fighter plane, was IAR-80/81 ( over 400 ). By the end of the war, the FARR had 232 IAR still in service, that means they lost in whole war around 200 planes (IAR figters only).
Ba imi place de tine... Bravo!

Considering the heritage of the IAR-80 / 81, Iyjink the airplane is remarkable in its perforance. It was derived from the IAR-11 / and later models.
The fighter was nimble and fast in a modern sense, but not as fast as the Bf 109. ll in all, it gave a goos account of itself in combat use. What more could you want?
The aircraft was a good one and the pilots were good. Taken as a whole, the IAR-80/81 were very good aircraft handicaped by a world war that enveloped them as well as the country. In retrospect, the planes were of excellent quality and gave as well as they got.
