I am attempting to research a lightning crash at Pepperbox Hill, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. Pepperbox was mainly used by the USAAF during WW2 as a bombing range. I would like some guidance in the direction of finding who,why and when the aircraft crashed. Checking the locally known lightning airbases has not revealed the Sqn identification or any aircraft losses in this location. If anyone has any thoughts on how to add information to this quest, please respond. Cheers.

I have some info on one P-38 crash that occurred in March or April of 1944 at that range if your still interested.
