The following image is from the "Fairey Scrapbook". There is no comment describing or concerning it. Only the workfloor hall (standard by 1920, primitive in our eyes now) seems to be the same like in other pictures there.

So I ask you (especially our British members):
1 - Are these cars truly Fairey-built?
2 - Do you know the designation of the car?
Wikipedia about Fairey Aircraft, as well as googling, showed no appropriate result.
Thank you for your help!

RT, looks like a Sheffield-Simplex armoured car.

Thank you for your answer, Kutscha. Sorrily to say, there are not many pictures of Sheffield-Simplex armoured cars in the web, and the ones I could find did not resemble the one above. It still remains a mystery.

RT, there was at least 2 distinct models differing mainly in body design. Would fenders be part of the body?
See photo #4 on pg 10 in Soviet Tanks and Combat Vehicles of WW2 by Zaloga/Grandsen
pg 12 has a profile drawing

Hi Kutscha,
does this mean you posess a picture that shows exactly that car in my photograph? If so, and it is one of the distinct models, can you give the designation of this very subtype?
Does you source mean it was used by the USSR? And does it give any hint that it was produced at Fairey's?
Thank you!

RT, yes the Soviets received 25 by 1916.
The armoured body was by T. Piggot & Co.
Net photos show 'round' fenders while your photo, my photo and drawing show 'square' fenders.
Another difference is the angle piece at the rear roof line. My photo has it curved while your photo and my drawing have it as flat.
No mention of Fairey.
I would guess that your photo is the T. Piggot & Co works where the bodies were fitted to the Sheffield-Simplex chassis.

Obviuosly, there were some model variants. Let's take a look at this Polish site for comparison:

Already 1916? That was still Tsarist Russia!:D
Thank you Kutscha for your labour!
